The Democratic Republic of Congo, through its government, agreed with the giant miner Ivanhoe to restart the production of the famous Kipushi mine. It is worth noting that this mine has been closed since 1924 and is famous for the high quality of the ores produced there, including zinc, copper, and others. This JV could produce more than 250.000 tons of zinc in the second semester of 2024. The local communities are very pleased with this agreement, for it is going to be a growth driver in terms of employment, schools, and power supply.
